Thanks so much for sitting down with us, we’re so happy you’re here. You’ve spoken openly about your skin journey on your page. What made you start documenting your skin?
What made me start my journey was simply because I felt like I’ve been hiding behind a mask on social media. I was always using heavy filters that did not show who I really was. I looked beautiful through it, but in reality I was struggling with my skin. Because of that, I felt like I owed it to the people to be real and from there, the rest was history.
Have you always cared for your skin? Was there a moment or time in your life that propelled you into self-care?
I only started caring for my skin when I started experiencing acne. I never really knew what to do with it until I was forced to figure it out because of my skin condition. It was through taking care of my skin that I learned to take care of myself.
We know that you’re all about maintaining and supporting mental and physical wellness so what are some words of affirmation you tell yourself or others when feeling down?
Whenever I am down, I tell myself (and others) that all things work together for the good. Whether good or bad things are happening, at the end of the day, they all work together for the good. Another one would be that I am more than the current struggle/situation I am experiencing.
What’s currently in your bag (beauty and non-beauty related)? What can’t you leave the house with?
In my bag are: card holder, keys, lotion, sanitizer, lip balm, eye glasses. I can’t leave the house without almost all of these, but most particularly, lip balm.
Your skin is always looking beautiful! How do you keep your glow going? Tell us a little about your skincare routine.
My current skincare routine is very simple. I have cut down a lot when it comes to products I put on my skin.
