Thanks so much for sitting down with us, we’re so happy you’re here, Linda. Tell us a little about how you started your aesthetician career.
I started my aesthetician career in 1983 and I was working part time at an aesthetic boutique I used to go to as a teenager. I graduated in 1985 from Seneca College and began working in both aesthetics and massage therapy. I eventually launched The Facial Place in 1988 in Ajax, Ontario and in 1991 moved it to Whitby. In 2003, I opened a second location in Pickering. In 2007, I launched a laser and medical division in the Pickering location and haven’t looked back since.
The Facial Place is an award winning day spa – congratulations! What made you want to start your own business specifically pertaining to skin health?
What made me start my own business was the ability to continually invest my money in my own skills and see what I could accomplish. Once I was able to put a business plan in place, I began to invest money in other people and develop their skills. I believe education is the key to success in business.
We admire your success! Have you always cared for you skin? Tell us about a moment in time that propelled you into skincare. Any advice you can share with someone who is struggling with their skin?
I have been very lucky to have always looked after my skin, because my mother always did. If you are struggling with your skin, don’t give up and go back to the basics. Wash every night before you go to bed and use a very good moisturizer. I promise you will see a difference in less than two weeks.
We totally agree, start with the basics and work you way up. Speaking of skincare, what are some products you simply can’t go without? What are your go-to’s?
My go to Miracle 10 product is the Enzyme Peel twice a week. I also always have the Miracle 10 Sunscreen in my purse, everyday.
